Spalding Farms Only Paws, LLC was founded in 2022 and has always been a dream of ours for YEARS!
Being closely connected to the dog community here in Southern Maryland, we’ve long been known as "the dog people.”
Morgan grew up on a farm surrounded by horses, dogs, pigs, goats, chickens, and just about every animal you can imagine. Never being afraid of any animal became a huge asset in her growth and passion for animal care. Morgan grew up riding horses and competing in Barrel racing and Hunter/Jumper. Her mother has owned and operated a local horse boarding facility since the early 2000s, and that experience—combined with Morgan's deep roots in canine reproduction—sparked the dream that one day she and Derek would open a place to care for pups while families traveled.
The name Spalding Farms is deeply personal and a name we want to carry on for many generations ahead. Derek’s grandfather "Pop Pop Spalding" was the original owner of Spalding Farms, what use to be a local tobacco farm here in Hollywood MD, located just a few miles north of our resort. Our love for dogs and our breeding program that was established in 2012, Spalding Farm Bullies, also originated on this farm. Through it, we’ve placed healthy, happy puppies in loving homes not only in our local community, but with families all over the world. That trust, built on care and customer service, is the same foundation we bring to Spalding Farms Only Paws.
As lifelong dog parents ourselves, we know firsthand how hard it can be to find someone you truly trust with your pets. That’s why we’ve built relationships with veterinarians in the community, giving us (and you) peace of mind knowing we have top-notch care a call away.
Getting here hasn’t been without its hurdles, but we wouldn’t change a thing. Today, we’re proud to provide not only exceptional care for your dogs, but also a place where fellow dog lovers can build a career, grow, and feel supported. At Spalding Farms Only Paws, our staff is the heart of everything we do. We know how important it is to trust the people caring for your pets, which is why we’ve built a team of only the most dedicated and experienced animal lovers.
We’ve handpicked each member of our staff for their dedication, experience, and passion for dogs. Many of our team members come with backgrounds in canine handling, training, or animal care education, and every single one of them shares the same goal: to make sure your pup feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away.
Our pack is held to the highest standards, because your pups deserve nothing but the best. From playgroup supervisors to enrichment specialists, every role is important in keeping your pups happy and healthy.
Most importantly, our staff doesn’t just work with dogs—they connect with them. They know their quirks, their personalities, and the little things that make each of your dogs special.
